Alexandria, Virginia Attorney Jeffrey Zimmerman Elected to Board of Directors of Nation’s Criminal Defense Bar

Washington, DC (Sept. 20, 2017) – Alexandria, Virginia, Attorney Jeffrey Zimmerman was sworn in as a member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL) at the Association’s Annual Meeting in San Francisco on July 29.

Zimmerman has over 20 years of experience representing individuals facing a broad range of criminal charges, from white collar prosecutions to capital cases. He also specializes in defending individuals and entities in civil and criminal forfeiture matters. He is a member of the Virginia and District of Columbia bars and practices in federal trial and appellate courts nationwide.

A life member of NACDL, Zimmerman has served on its Board of Directors since 2014. He currently chairs both the Elections Committee and the Social Media Committee and co-chairs the Membership Committee. In 2015, Zimmerman received NACDL’s Presidential Commendation for his distinguished service.

Zimmerman is a frequent speaker on forfeiture litigation and federal criminal matters, and he has been featured in various media outlets including the New York Times, National Public Radio, and CNN. He also previously served as Adjunct Faculty at the Washington College of Law at American University. He has been named as a preeminent lawyer in the field of criminal defense by Virginia Super Lawyers and as a Top Criminal Defense Lawyer by Northern Virginia Magazine.

Zimmerman graduated with his undergraduate degree from Oberlin College and he received his J.D. from the American University, Washington College of Law.
