Porscha Brown began her academic journey at Sam Houston State University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice in 2011. She went on to receive her Juris Doctor from Thurgood Marshall School of Law in 2015 and later earned a Master of Public Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2018. Porscha launched her legal career as a Public Defender in El Paso before continuing her advocacy at the Harris County Public Defender’s Office. Renowned for her zealous, creative, and client-centered approach, she has built a reputation as a formidable trial advocate dedicated to protecting the rights of indigent clients. A proud graduate of the Gideon’s Promise Core Public Defender Training Program, Porscha exemplifies excellence in indigent criminal defense and a deep commitment to systemic fairness. Her passion for justice extends well beyond the courtroom. Porscha is a sought-after speaker on criminal law and LGBTQ+ advocacy, and she remains actively engaged in community-centered initiatives aimed at meaningful change. Currently, Porscha serves as the Executive Director of the Harris County Office of Managed Assigned Counsel. In this role, she continues to champion high-quality indigent defense representation.
