In this session, panelists including Vasu Abhiraman, Helen Rosenthal Senior Counsel at Alliance for Justice, and Judge Annie O’Connell, Jefferson County, KY Circuit Court Judge, will talk about the nuts and bolts of the federal and state judicial nominations and elections process. The discussion will cover how judges get nominated, including commissions, timelines, and the ABA process, among other things. Panelists will also answer questions and address specifically the considerations that NACDL attorneys should address to maximize odds of getting on the bench.
