SB 6448 - Provides that a person is guilty of unlawful use of a surveillance drone for the purposes of surveillance without the consent of all persons within the area surveilled by such drone for the purpose of collecting contact tracing information or for monitoring the vital signs or social distancing practices of individuals. Establishes that unlawful use of a surveillance drone is a class E felony. View the Bill

SB 3862 – Makes it unlawful to intentionally use a drone to surreptitiously view, broadcast, or record another person, by means of aerial imaging technology, at a place and time when a person has a reasonable expectation of privacy. View the Bill

SB 3914 – Regulates the use of unmanned aircrafts in the state; authorizes permitted uses of unmanned aircrafts; establishes that except that expressly authorized by statute, a political subdivision may not enact or enforce an ordinance or resolution that regulates the ownership or operation of unmanned aircraft. SB 3235 – Establishes that a person is guilty of unlawful use of an unmanned aircraft if they intentionally operate the unmanned aircraft (i) in violation of federal laws or regulations of the U.S. Department of Transportation and Federal Aviation Administration or (ii) in a reckless manner so as to endanger the life, safety, or property of another person. AB 3311 – Prohibits the use of drones by law enforcement to observe or collect data at concerts, protests, demonstrations, or other actions protected by the first amendment. Requires a search warrant for any use of drones for law enforcement purposes that are not specifically prohibited, or to obtain any data gathered by a drone that is owned or controlled by a private company, individual, or a government agency. Prohibits law enforcement from using drones equipped with facial recognition software or using facial recognition on video or images obtained by drones. Prohibits drones equipped with devices used for crowd control or any weapons. Requires that all data obtained by the use of drones by law enforcement that are not part of an ongoing criminal investigation or proceeding be destroyed in one year or less. View the Bill

AB 9931 – This bill would impose limitations on the use of drones by law enforcement at concerts, protests, demonstrations, or other actions protected by the first amendment and would require a search warrant prior to using a drone for law enforcement purposes. View the Bill
