PROGRAM SUMMARY:

NACDL's 25th State Criminal Justice Network Conference brings together defense attorneys, policymakers, and advocates working at the state level to learn from experts on key state criminal justice policy topics. There are seven topics at this year's conference and include the following panels - Extreme Sentences: Life Without Parole, Juvenile Lifers, and the Path to Reform Extreme Sentencing; The Uncharted Path to Creating Prosecutorial Accountability - Patterns, Persistence, & Case Study of Colorado Efforts to Reform Absolute Immunity; and Competency to Stand Trial: Systems Under Pressure, Paths Forward. Attendees will leave having discussed practical advocacy themes and ways to advance legislative and system-change within their states.
