Organize Data: Shared Folders

If you choose to use a shared folder, follow these best practices to make it easier to sort and process the data.

First choose a system for organizing law enforcement misconduct.

Best Practices

  • Create a naming convention (e.x. _underscore_no_spaces)
  • Create a folder with each officer, label it: OfficerName_identifier
  • Within each folder, label Documents: type_identifier
  • Don't save the same document twice, use shortcuts
