Applicant Tracking System

With the support of the NACDL Foudnation for Criminal Justice, NACDL has developed the infrastructure and the process to implement a large-scale pro bono legal initiative to provide individualized representation for those seeking back-end relief.

Working with various partners across several projects, NACDL supports recruitment, training, and ongoing support for volunteer attorneys and oversees the assignment and case tracking for clients. The system is adaptable and scalable to varied situations and includes project-focused training curriculum, project specific resources, model petitions and motions, and research memoranda. It is also serves as a means to track case outcomes. Utilizing our existing networks of criminal defense specialists, NACDL creates a core of advisory attorneys who provide ongoing support and input both through direct personal interaction with the assigned attorneys and through ongoing, interactive web-based training. This is vital because many of the volunteer attorneys provided by law firms are not themselves criminal defense lawyers.

NACDL, with support from the NACDL Foundation for Criminal Justice (NFCJ), has partnered with various groups to support several back-end projects to pursue a Return to Freedom Project for deserving individuals.
