Like most of you, I am a serious lawyer. I have had sleepless nights, monumental weight fluctuation, as well as physical, psychological, and emotional trauma during the course of a trial representing a citizen accused of a crime. Even in the worst of times, it is often the gallows humor of colleagues that has allowed me to move through another grueling day of hearing the words “overruled,” “denied,” or “move on” tossed at me from the bench. Yet, never have I laughed so hard about the predicament of the trial lawyer as I did when reading this book.

Mickey Sherman is a friend of mine. I have known him through his various incarnations as defense attorney, public speaker, and ubiquitous television commentator.
