United States v. Blandon-Saavedra

Defendant allegedly drove his car into two different ICE cars that had blocked him in, while trying to evade arrest. Because the government repaired one of the ICE cars prior to allowing the defense to inspect the vehicle, the Court dismissed with prejudice one of the counts of the indictment charging the defendant with using a deadly weapon, his car, to assault a federal official. The case was dismissed with prejudice and the government has appealed.
