BE IT RESOLVED this 26th day of February, 2022 in Austin, Texas the Board of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers recognizes and remembers Natman Schaye, a fierce advocate for justice and a bemused observer of the human condition and:

His extraordinary commitment to enforcing constitutional rights and his tireless work to end the death penalty in this country;

His devotion to and involvement with the mission and community of NACDL;

His generosity in training, educating, and mentoring criminal defense lawyers and his vital role in the creation of the Colorado Method Capital Voir Dire training which has saved hundreds of lives;

NACDL is indebted to Natman Schaye for all he contributed in the service of justice as a unique and exceptional criminal defense lawyer, friend, NACDL Board Member, and supporter of countless NACDL endeavors. We are better for it. His memory will continue to inspire us in the struggles ahead. He was truly one of Liberty’s Last Champions.
