HUSL Defenders Program

The NACDL Foundation for Criminal Justice is proud to serve as fiscal sponsor for HUSL Defenders, a program led by Professor Lucius T. Outlaw III at Howard University School of Law. The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization (EIN 52-2289169) that receives and administers contributions designated for HUSL Defenders. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.

Supporting Future Public Defenders

HUSL Defenders prepares Howard Law students to pursue careers in public defense and serve communities where access to skilled legal representation is urgently needed. The program provides students with training, mentorship, career guidance, and opportunities to build the practical skills and professional relationships needed to enter the field.
