Texas Attorney Michelle Tuegel Elected to National Criminal Defense Bar Assn. Board of Directors
Washington, DC (Aug. 19, 2016) – Michelle Tuegel of Waco, TX, was elected to the Board of Directors of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL) at the Association's 59th annual meeting in Palm Beach, FL, on August 13.
An NACDL life member, Tuegel is currently a partner at the law firm of Hunt and Tuegel, PLLC, where she practices many areas of criminal law including: sex offenses, theft, drug crimes, arson, murder, capital murder and white collar crimes. She has tried eight high-profile capital murder cases, aggravated sexual assault, kidnapping, robbery, federal felony drug cases, and she has represented a number of clients facing the death penalty at trial. Tuegel has testified as an expert in capital death penalty habeas litigation in the area of jury selection and mitigation. She has also presented at seminars at the local, state and national level on the topic of mitigation.
Tuegel has been practicing criminal defense in Texas since she graduated from Baylor University Law School in 2010. She was named a Rising Star by Texas Super Lawyers in 2015 and 2016, and a Top 100 Trial Lawyer by The National Trial Lawyers Association from 2014 to 2016. She is also a member of the College of the State Bar of Texas, and the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyer's Association.
She received her B.A. from Rollins College.
