John L. Arrascada

John Arrascada is a fourth generation Nevadan. He practices law in Reno as a partner in the law firm of Arrascada & Aramini, focusing on criminal defense and civil litigation.

Mr. Arrascada graduated from Boston College in 1988 and received his Juris Doctorate from the Georgetown University Law Center in 1992. He graduated from the National Criminal Defense College in 1995.

Mr. Arrascada began his career as a law clerk for the Honorable Peter I. Breen of the Second Judicial District for Nevada. He then was a law clerk for the Honorable Procter R. Hug Jr. of the United States Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit.

Mr. Arrascada served as a Deputy Public Defender for Washoe County for five years, and has since been in private practice. His practice ranges from representing people accused of misdemeanor trespassing up to capital murder. He practices in State and Federal court, the Nevada Supreme Court and the Ninth Circuit Court of appeals.

He successfully represented the State Controller of Nevada in the first impeachment proceeding in Nevada. John has represented several clergy men and served as a legal consultant to several dioceses regarding allegations of sexual misconduct.

Mr. Arrascada is on the board of directors of the Nevada Justice Association, a member of the Nevada Association for Criminal Justice and the American Justice Association.
