NACDL News: NACDL Board Member Robert Toale Receives Justice Albert Tate Jr. Award

On Dec. 7, 2018, the Louisiana Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (LACDL) presented NACDL Board Member and chair of NACDL’s Public Defense Committee Robert Toale with its Justice Albert Tate Jr. Award, LACDL’s most prestigious award, at the 33rd Annual Justice Albert Tate Jr. Awards Banquet in New Orleans, Louisiana. Justice Tate sat on both the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the Louisiana State Supreme Court. The award is presented “for outstanding contributions to the Louisiana system of criminal justice and is dedicated to constitutional principles” and is “designed to honor individuals for dedication to, or in defense of, those constitutional principles for which Justice Tate stood.”
