Farrell Receives Champion of Justice Humanitarian Award

Mike Farrell, president of Death Penalty Focus, was presented with NACDL’s 2007 Champion of Justice Civic/Humanitarian Award Feb. 22 at the Midwinter Meeting in San Diego. President Martin S. Pinales presented the award.

A writer, producer, director, and actor who became well known for his eight years as B.J. Honeycutt on “M*A*S*H,” Farrell is now also a well-known human rights advocate. He is co-chair emeritus of Human Rights Watch in Southern California and a co-founder of Artists United to Win Without War. As president of Death Penalty Focus (, Farrell speaks, writes, and works to abolish capital punishment.
