Public Defense

Author’s Note: Thanks to continued public and private grant funding, the Public Defense Training Scholarship was renewed for a second year, and applications for 2015-2016 have been pouring in. The scholarship program sets NACDL apart as an organization dedicated to facilitating access to quality training for attorneys who otherwise might not receive it.

First Year of Scholarship Program Draws to a Close

The end of September marked the close of NACDL’s first year of administering the Public Defense Training Scholarship, a scholarship program designed to help attorneys who engage in court-appointed criminal practice attend continuing legal education seminars offered by NACDL and other national organizations. The scholarships provide reimbursement for registration and some travel expenses associated with CLE attendance.
