Summit Held on Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (NACDL News)

On April 11, NACDL participated in a roundtable discussion concerning the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA). The summit — hosted by the U.S. Chamber Institute for Legal Reform — included senior officials from the U.S. Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and the Department of Commerce, as well as numerous business groups and trade associations.
Administration participants included Criminal Division Assistant Attorney General Lanny Breuer, DOJ Fraud Unit Chief Denis McInerney, and deputy chiefs of that unit Jeffrey Knox and Charles Duross. Other agency officials attended, including Department of Commerce General Counsel Kerry Cameron, the SEC Director of Enforcement Robert Khuzami, and Kara Brockmeyer, chief of the SEC’s FCPA Unit.
