Nathan Pysno

Director of Economic Crime & Procedural Justice

Nathan Pysno is the Director of Economic Crime & Procedural Justice at NACDL. He focuses on criminal justice initiatives including discovery reform, sentencing, plea bargaining and the right to trial, overcriminalization, intent requirements, and asset forfeiture. He coordinates NACDL’s strategic partnerships with other organizations on multiple federal and state legislative and agency initiatives designed to prevent the further erosion of civil liberties in our criminal justice system. In addition, he oversees and executes NACDL’s various education initiatives and programs, conducted alone or in partnership with law schools and other organizations, focusing on the defense of white collar and economic crimes.

Before joining NACDL, Nate practiced in the areas of white collar criminal defense, civil litigation, and government enforcement at two large law firms in Washington, D.C., and served as a judicial law clerk to Judge Jane R. Roth of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He holds a B.A. from Carleton College and a J.D. from Vanderbilt Law School, where he was the Senior Managing Editor of the Vanderbilt Law Review.
