Diane Price

Public Defense Training Manager

Diane DePietropaolo Price is NACDL’s Public Defense Training Manager. In this role, Diane supports NACDL’s Public Defense Department and its broad efforts to support public defense providers across America. She works with public defense leaders and training experts to develop live and recorded trainings for full-time public defenders and private assigned or contract counsel who represent accused persons who cannot afford representation. She also engages in research and reform efforts to elevate public defense nationwide. 

Prior to joining NACDL, Diane dedicated her career to working on behalf of poor people accused of crimes as an Assistant Public Defender for the Mecklenburg County Public Defender’s Office in Charlotte, N.C. In addition to advocating on behalf of her clients, Diane developed training materials for the Mecklenburg County Bar that were designed to assist attorneys taking court-appointed cases due to conflict or overload. She is a 2008 graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Law and completed her undergraduate work at Western Carolina University in 2005.
