Senior Clemency Resource Counsel
Caprice R. Jenerson currently serves as a Staff Attorney for the Clemency Project 2014. As a staff attorney, Caprice provides substantive assistance to the clemency staff, including conducting research on legal issues, drafting and editing documents, and responding to requests for information from attorneys, the Project Manager, and various project committees.
Prior to joining the Clemency Project 2014, Caprice practiced as a criminal defense lawyer in the state and federal courts of Georgia for nearly two decades. In addition to substantial trial practice, Caprice regularly represented convicted persons in post-conviction relief at the state and federal levels, including direct appeals, Georgia state habeas actions, and federal §2254 and §2255 petitions. She has briefed and argued numerous appeals before the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Georgia Supreme Court and the Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
Caprice earned her Juris Doctor from Georgia State University College of Law and her Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Rutgers University (Douglass College). She is admitted to the state and federal courts in Georgia, the Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the New York bar.
