Programs and Products Assistant

The National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL) is seeking a full-time, entry-level Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Programs and Products Assistant to support the Programs Department. This position presents an exciting opportunity to join NACDL in support of its mission to provide training and educational opportunities to improve the competency of the criminal defense bar and equip them to better serve all accused persons at the highest level.

OVERVIEW:

The Programs and Products Assistant is responsible for administering and producing relative documents and materials in preparation for educational training events, managing faculty communications, and assists with the production and distribution of educational content and resources.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide logistical and administrative support as needed to the Associate Executive Director for Legal Education & Professional Development, and the Senior Manager for Legal Education Product Sales.
  • Assists as needed with the administration, coordination, and logistics for educational training seminars and self-study resources.
  • Oversees data processing and tabulation of seminar evaluations.
  • Process and analyze statistics for attendance and evaluations and make relevant recommendations based on data collected.
  • Update and maintain CLE content and resourced on the Web site and Learning Management System.
  • Collect and organize faculty information and documentation.
  • Assist with faculty communications and logistics.
  • Travel/attend nationwide educational seminars to assist with on-site administration.
  • Assist with sales of educational products.
  • Respond to inquiries about educational products and resources.
  • Travel is required

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required
  • Proficient computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience in project planning and management
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills; specific ability to be professional with volunteers and customers.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:

While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to use written and oral communication skills; read and interpret data, information and documents; analyze and solve non-routine and complex office administrative problems; use math and mathematical reasoning; observe and interpret situations; learn and apply new information or skills; perform highly detailed work on multiple, concurrent tasks; work under intensive deadlines with frequent interruptions; and interact with NACDL managers, staff, customers, the public and others encountered in the course of work. Employees work under typical office conditions, and the noise level is usually quiet. Position requires occasional travel overnight and work at NACDL sponsored member events.
