NACDL Hurricane Disaster Relief Project

Bulletin Board:
NACDL has established a new Hurricane Disaster Relief Bulletin Board for affected members to communicate with their NACDL colleagues. Here, members can offer assistance, those in need can learn about the assistance being offered, and NACDL can match-up those in need with those who are able to assist. Please remember to include your contact information, or call Alison Sterling at 202-872-8600 X248 to leave your contact information with her.

NACDL Hurricane Disaster Relief Fund:
NACDL encourages all members to make tax-deductible contributions to the Foundation for Criminal Justice and its Hurricane Disaster Relief Fund. NACDL has donated $5,000 to this fund -- and we hope all NACDL members will give generously. Indeed, if each member were to contribute a minimum of $100, we would raise more than $1.2 million. This is a relief fund established by defense lawyers for defense lawyers. Once we have a better understanding of the needs of our members, we will provide cash grants and loans to help defense lawyers get back on their feet. Among the criteria for distribution of funds will be a demonstrated need to acquire basic office equipment and supplies, assistance with case management and oversight, administrative support to carry out work on behalf of clients, and the provision of loans or grants to our colleagues in the affected areas who are unable to receive such aid elsewhere. Again, please donate today.
