Manager for Information Services
Position Description:
The National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL) seeks a full-time Manager for Information Services to oversee and maintain its information infrastructure. NACDL is a not-for-profit, professional bar association with nationally renowned policy and legal education departments. The Manager administers and maintains the Association’s AMS (database), CMS, email distribution list, Exchange, Active Directory, local area network, and other mission critical information systems. The Manager also acts as webmaster. In addition, the Manager works closely with all departments to ensure full utilization of available information technology to advance NACDL’s policy, program, and membership agendas, while reviewing new technologies and recommending improvements as warranted. The Manager develops and runs queries, reports, analyses, and lists from multiple IT systems and for a wide variety of uses for management and staff (and trains staff how to run queries as necessary). Additionally, the Manager develops and executes the budget for the association’s information systems, including supervising a number of off-site service contracts.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to develop and implement multiple IT projects on time and within budget, and must have strong communication skills including the abilities to translate user requirements into system specifications and to communicate and present information to management and colleagues. The candidate must be familiar with or demonstrate the ability to rapidly learn Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, administration of LANs, Windows and Office Suite (particularly Outlook, Excel, and Access) and IT best practices. Knowledge of SQL queries, Crystal reports, LotusNotes web platform, IMPak, Ektron, Capwiz, Lyris ListManager, and standard web development tools a strong plus. A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information management, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is required. An interest in criminal justice reform policy is a plus.
Compensation will be based on experience and is highly competitive with other non-profit organizations.
