This Special Training Seminar is limited to 36 approved attorneys, mitigation specialists, and investigators with pending death penalty trials. All persons interested in this training will need to submit an application. If approved, you will be forwarded a special registration form. Slots will be filled on a first-come, first-approved basis. Registration fees are $325/person for the two-day seminar and must be pre-paid. Due to the nature of this seminar and the limited participation, absolutely no refunds will be honored in the event of a cancellation.
Every death penalty case is unique, as is every capital defense team. This two-day training seminar will focus on preparing for the penalty phase of a capital case with an emphasis on team-building. Designed with numerous small group sessions, it will help both the newcomer and the seasoned pros of capital defense teams. The small “learn by doing” groups will bring together facilitators experienced in working with capital defense teams and attorneys, mitigation specialists, and investigators, to help you develop and improve the preparation and presentation of a capital case. These collaborative and interactive sessions will explore the dynamics of team building, brainstorming, mitigation, conflict resolution, dealing with experts, and working with a difficult capital defendant. Joint attendance by more than one member of a trial team working on a current case is strongly encouraged.
