If you think you might want to practice before the International Criminal Court (ICC), we are holding an Introductory Course in the Hague, July 5-6. This course is co-sponsored by NACDL, ICDAA and the TMC Asser Institute at Leiden University.
It will be limited to the first 32 lawyers who sign up and the cost is 300 Euros (not including travel or hotel). Spaces are still available. For more information or to register, send a message to GrotiusCentre@Campusdenhaag.nl.
This is an introductory course designed to equip lawyers for the challenge of undertaking cases before the ICC including;
1. Understanding substantive law
2. Practical investigation and trial preparation
3. Developing cross-examination skills
One day will be devoted to lectures and one day the participants, divided into groups of eight, will be required to prepare a
cross-examination of one witness from a fact pattern they will receive before arriving at the seminar. Experienced faculty will critique the participants.
The faculty for this course includes people from the US, England, Ireland, France, The Netherlands, Germany and perhaps other countries as well.
Come to The Hague for the Fourth of July!
