The mission of the focus group was to provide the Department of Justice with real solutions to reform indigent defense through a wide variety of initiatives that relieve pressure on indigent defense systems. Focus group participants included leaders from the executive, judicial, and legislative branches of government, as well as leaders of successful indigent defense programs, authors, critics and scholars.
