EACDL pushes for withheld sentences
In response to a recent court of appeals decision in Indiana,
which found the use of a withheld sentence for individuals charged with
class D felonies illegal, the Evansville Association of Criminal Defense
Lawyers has begun taking an active role in pushing legislation
authorizing the long-accepted practice. Numerous EACDL members serve in
advisory capacities in the local criminal justice system, including the
Work Release Jobs Program, the Community Corrections Complex, and the
Public Defender System.

Bright to speak to NCATL
On June 14, the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers will
hold its annual convention, “Criminal Masters in Advocacy Seminar:
