Friedman Named OACDL’s Lawyer of the Year
At its recent Superstar Seminar in Columbus, Ohio, the Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (OACDL) presented its First Annual Lawyer of the Year Award to its past president, Ian N. Friedman, founder of the Ian Friedman & Associates law firm in Cleveland. A special awards committee chose Friedman because of his exemplary career of criminal law advocacy and leadership, length of career, and creative strategies in criminal defense work. Friedman stood out among the nominees due to his role as an OACDL member and living out the goals and values of the organization by serving as a mentor to other lawyers. Practicing law since 1997, Friedman focuses on municipal, state, and federal criminal law. An active OACDL member, he has held leadership positions in several associations, including the American Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, and the Cuyahoga County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.
