RIACDL Assists With Legislation Involving Forensic Laboratory
The Rhode Island Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (RIACDL) was instrumental in galvanizing opposition to legislation that would transfer the state’s independent forensic laboratory to the state police and Department of Public Safety. The law eventually enacted was in a different and more acceptable form thanks to assistance from an NAS report on forensic science, expertise from the Innocence Project, and the testimony of RIACDL member Robert Mann.
WACDL Presents Awards at Annual Conference
The Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (WACDL) presented several awards at its annual conference held June 12 in Chelan, Wash. Peter Camiel and Jim Lobsenz of Seattle each received WACDL’s Distinguished Careers in Criminal Defense Award.
