Carter, Thoma to Join NACDL Council of Affiliates, Board of Directors
Ray Carter, immediate past president of the Mississippi Public Defenders Association, and Jeffrey Thoma, the public defender for Solano County, will fill the two vacant seats on the Council of Affiliates and become members of NACDL’s Board of Directors at the Annual Meeting to be held in Boston on August 5-8. NACDL received two nominations for the two vacant seats.
The Council of Affiliates is comprised of four Affiliate Representatives — each with a three-year term — who serve on NACDL’s Board of Directors. The Council is primarily tasked with coordinating information and maintaining the relationship between NACDL and its county, city, state, and international Affiliates.
Affiliate leaders are encouraged to contact their designated Council members to voice concerns or convey ideas to enhance the effectiveness of the Affiliate network. Additional contact information and an explanation of the role of the Council of Affil
