honored its Past President Douglas Peters with the Rees Smith Lifetime
Achievement Award. The award, named for one of the association’s
founders, is presented to GACDL members who: (1) have been in good
standing for more than 20 years, (2) have made substantial contributions
to the association (including committee and Board service), (3) have
consistent attendance at GACDL events, and (4) have been active with
other bar or civic-related groups. Peters has served on the GACDL Board
of Directors for nearly 30 years and spends countless hours mentoring
young lawyers across the state. He is the sixth recipient of the Rees
Smith Award in the past 30 years. For more information, please contact
