NACDL is a constant and sometimes lone voice in fighting for fair criminal justice policies. Because proposals to expand police powers, criminal laws and penalties are never-ending and policymakers devote far too little attention to the fundamental role of criminal defense lawyers in our adversary system, NACDL seeks to balance the scales of justice in this constant struggle. In the midst of this challenging environment, no organization does more to expose injustice and ensure that our adversary system is not held hostage to short-sided policies and political opportunism than NACDL.
NACDL's Advocacy Page includes the latest information pertinent to reform efforts in the criminal justice system.
