Defense Lawyers Elect Mallett Vice President



Denver, CO, Aug. 8, 1998 -- Houston criminal defense lawyer Edward A. Mallett will be sworn in today as 1998-1999 First Vice-President of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers at the Association's Annual Meeting.

A Past President of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the Harris County (TX) Criminal Lawyers Association, Mr. Mallett brings 28 years of full-time criminal defense experience to the vice-presidency. He has also held positions as NACDL's Second Vice President, Secretary and Parliamentarian, served three three-year terms on its Board of Directors, and is a past chair of the Association's Death Penalty Committee.

Mr. Mallett is a graduate of Dartmouth College and the University of Texas Law School.
